About us
The Dutch Democracy Coalition is a collaboration between Dutch non-profit organisations that are dedicated to improving the democracy in the Netherlands and abroad. The urgency is clear: in the last 15 years, democracy has been under pressure and authoritarianism is on the rise. In the Netherlands, for example, the PVV, a radical right wing party, has become part of the government. This party does not hesitate to attack the rule of law and to undermine the democratic process. It is our goal to counter a further decline of democracy and to strengthen it as much as possible.
'Democracy under Threat'
In 2022, several Dutch non-profit organisations organised the conference 'Democracy under Threat'. This conference resulted in the 'Democracy Manifesto - Our Call for Action!'. In this Manifesto, 16 concrete reccomendations to strenghten democracy are presented. You can read the entire Manifesto on this website and sign if if you want to support us! The Dutch Democracy Coalition was founded to act on these recommendations.
